Look who is almost 16 months old

Ok, I know, it has been 10 months since we last blogged. We are so sorry, but at least most people who read our blog see us on a regular basis, so you know a lot of the updates. Anyways, here we go.
Taylar is almost 16 months old now, and she truly has turned into a little person. I was reading through our blog before writing this and saw the pictures of Julia while she was still pregnant with Taylar and pictures from when she was born. It still feels like just yesterday that I cut her umbilical cord, but now she is so independent and is a little person.
Taylar began to crawl at about 9 months, and we called her mogli because she did not like to crawl on her knees so she crawled like Mogli on the Jungle Book. It was so cute to see her crawl around. When she first started crawling, she only went backwards, but was soon moving forward quickly.
It was not long after she began to crawl that Taylar took her first steps. She took her first steps at about 10 and a half months and by 11 months, she was trying to run. We were both very excited to get Taylar mobile, and now it is hard to catch her sometimes.
For Taylar's Birthday, we did a Sesame Street Theme and Julia and Courtney made Cake Pops with the different Sesame Street characters. It was a great 1st Birthday for Taylar, and she got lots of cool new toys. Some pictures of the Cake Pops are in this blog. Take a peak.
We had a cold winter, and the day after Groundhogs day we got our biggest snowfall of the season with over a foot of snow. After that, our weather got really nice and we have had record tying or breaking days throughout a good part of March and even into April. Because of this, Taylar has gotten to spend a lot of time outside, and she loves it. She is such a little outdoors girl, she reminds us of Matt.
Well, we think that you are up to date now. Hopefully it won't be 10 months before we blog again.
Love,
Matt, Julia, & Taylar

Taylar was born. Yes, it has already been 6 short, but wonderful months. It is so crazy to see how much our little munchkin has grown already. She is so close to rolling over it is scary, she is cutting her first tooth, and she now makes a motion with her lips when she is hungry. Everyday is something completely new with her. We are so excited for the next 6 months in her journey, and hopefully, we can blog more as she begins doing more things. Hope you enjoy these next pictures of her from the day she was born to every month of her life.

Pictures are in sequence from
Newborn to 6 Months.
Thanks for reading,

Taylar Update

Well, the first month of Taylar's little life has come and gone so quickly and she now fits in newborn clothes and is actually almost out of most of them. We are enjoying our time with Taylar and are absolutely loving being mommy and daddy. We figured out that Matt does not know how to use a computer and lost all of is pictures from the past 5-6 years including Taylar's birth pictures. Luckily, Daniel was able to get most of Taylar's pictures back for us. Here are some new pictures for our loyal blog readers.

We are so happy that all of these wonderful people could share in Taylar's birth with us. In the pictures above are Taylar's Aunts Becca and Lori, Cousin Emilie, Uncle Thomas, Nana Ru (Grandma Ruth) and Papa George.

Taylar Kay Richards

Here we are, sitting at the hospital on December 23, 2010 with our Brand New Baby Girl. We came to the hospital for an induction on Tuesday night at 8:00. After 30 hours of laboring, the baby was just not making any progress so the Doc opted to do a C-Section. Taylar Kay was born at 7:05 A.M. on December 23, 2010 weighing in at 6 lbs. 2 oz. and 20 inches long. Here are some pictures. Matt got to be in the Operating Room during the C-Section, but had to scrub up... Here is his picture.

Christmas 2010

We love Christmas season. We love it a little bit more this year, because our baby will be here just in time to celebrate with us. Matt put up our Christmas lights today, and tonight, we are decorating our Christmas Tree. We just need to go get our "Babies First Christmas" ornament and a cute little Newborn Christmas Dress for her to wear. We are so excited for our little bundle of joy to be here, and just in time to meet her Aunts Becca and Lori, her Uncles Jerry and Brian, her cousins Avery, Will, Lucy, Ethan, Vaughn, Faith, and Emilie, and her second cousin Bobby and his family. We are also so excited to see Becca in a few days and get to spend Christmas with her... We can't wait to see her new little girl sometime around March! It's such a joyous time of year, and we are so lucky to be able to spend this time of year with our wonderful families!

Crazy Colorado Weather

So, I thought I had seen it all, but I do believe that Mother Nature has had a severe case of PMS over the past couple of weeks in Colorado. We have gone from 65 degree weather to 8 inches of snow the next day, then back to 70 degree weather and within 3 days, we had another foot and a half of snow on the ground. Crazy to think of this wonderful Colorado Weather. Luckily, I think we are done for a little bit. We are expecting rain at the end of this week, but we were above 80 degrees today so that was cool.... And Julia's new bike will really come in handy.

Love,
Matt and Jewels

Julia's Birthday

Well, Julia is now 22 years old. Gosh how time flies...It feels like just yesterday Matt was attempting to have a Surprise Birthday Party for her. This year, Matt let her assist in the party planning, but she was not included in her birthday present. Matt got her a bike this year. We are so excited to ride our bikes all summer long. We love all of our friends and family that spent Julia's birthday with us. We love you all.

New Family Member

Wow -- It has been forever since we posted... however, not a lot to talk about. The biggest thing in our lives right now is that we went from having no kids to having an 18 year old living with us. Stephanie, Matt's Neice, has been living with us for about a month now and we love it. Stephanie decided to come live with us due to some issues between her and her dad. She is attending Standley Lake High School. It is very fun.

Matt's sister Lori was due to have a new baby boy, Andrew Scott Teeters, this past Tuesday, but no labor yet. If she does not go into labor by this coming Tuesday, one week late, they are going to induce to get the baby out of there. Seems the babies in that family like to stay in there where it is nice and warm. Matt's neice Emilie was about a week late too!!!!

Anyways, just wanted to stop by to chat. Julia's Birthday is coming up along with our family trip to California in July, so be expecting some VERY fun posts coming up soon.

Matt a Priest

So, just a month after Matt's Baptism to the Mormon Religion, he was ordained a Priest in the Aaronic Priesthood (Someone who knows church vocabulary better than us, please tell us if we spelled Aaronic correctly.)

The Aaronic Priesthood is a preparatory Priesthood before reaching the Melchezidak Priesthood in which you are able to basically do anything within the church. As a Priest, I am able to Prepare and Bless the Sacrament and also I am able to baptize new members if need be as well, I just have to wait until I get the Melchezidak Priesthood before I would be able to Confirm, give blessings or annointments, and before I can ordain members to a new level of Priesthood.

We are pretty excited about the new way we are living our lives and Matt is very happy with the decision he has made.

Surgery for Matt

I know, shocking it isn't Julia that is out of work for surgery. Last Tuesday, Matt had a tonsilectomy and gets to be out of work until Monday. Thankfully, he is starting to feel much better and is not in very much pain anymore. For those of you who don't know, he had to have his tonsils out for 3 reasons: 1. Sleep Apnea (he stopped breathing 7 times for 30 seconds or more within a 5 hour period) 2. Allergies were making him sick in the morning, 3. He could not train properly for the police department Physical Tests because he would be out of breath after running just around the block and he needs to be able to do 1.5 miles without stopping.

Hopefully, this will all help and he can get back to being his normal eventful self again very soon. Thank You for your Prayers from everyone who knew about the surgery, they were definitely very helpful

Snow, and lots of it

So we are in the midst of our first snowstorm here in Colorado, and if this is any sign of how the winter is going to go, we are in for quite the season. It started snowing less than 24 hours ago and there is probably close to a foot of snow on the ground at our house. October 28th, and we have more snow on the ground than we got all season last year up until March. However, at least our boss is being nice and letting us work in Louisville when it snows so we don't have to drive quite so far, that is nice, except it makes us essential personnel, so WE HAVE TO BE THERE!!! Blah. Oh well, guess it gets Matt ready to be a police officer where he will work whether it snows or not. Anyways, here is a cute picture of Bear, Molly and Liberty enjoying our first snowstorm of the season!!!!

For those of you who do not already know, which should not be very many of you, the big announcement is that Julia is........... NOT pregnant. In fact the big announcement was all about Matt, Matt got baptized Mormon on September 23. What a way to celebrate his 24th birthday. Yes the 23rd was also his birthday. It was really an awesome experience for all involved. Here are some pictures.
